Are men and women at the same level?

Every time there is a research whose main proposal is to know whether women are finally truly equal to men. It is not difficult to see different opinions. Some of them at least agree that women are equal to men; others disagree saying that women still have a long way to go before they reach the same level of men. It is interesting to analayze the reasons of each point of view. The ones who believe that women and men are at the same level use some examples to justify this opinion. They say that many governments have both male and female representatives, many companies are now owned or managed by women and a lot of progress has been made since 1960s. However, there are others who offer explanations in which the disagreement is clear. They affirm that most governments are still made up in their majority by men. Women still earn less than men in many companies because a hundred of years of history could not be changed in the last 40 years. In spite of this contrast, all the participants of the research have something in common: they understand that the women's progress is a necessity of modern life. More than this, women have been proving their professional capacity in hard times like these. People can agree and disagree about the situation of women in our society. On the other hand, they do not have any doubt to say that women still have a long road to go.
